Draco

Draco draws on an ancient Chinese myth in which a celestial dragon devours the sun.

For more than four thousand years the Chinese explained a solar eclipse this way: the dragon Draco descends from the sky and swallows the sun whole. The music rises with the morning sun, worshipped by the people, until Draco strikes and darkness falls. To drive the beast off they raise a deafening din — thundering drums and arrows loosed into the sky — until at last he releases the sun and daylight returns in triumph.
